A real APK, not a shortcut
The web2apk converter wraps your live site in a native Android shell and adds the things a browser tab can never have.
Signed, installable APK — free
Every build is signed, because Android refuses to install anything else. No watermark, no expiry, no card. Send it to a client, put it behind a download link, install it on your own phones today.
Your icon, name and colours
One square image becomes every launcher size. Your brand colour becomes the status bar and the splash.
Native bottom tabs Pro
Map tabs to sections of your site. Navigation where thumbs are, and a way home from every page.
Push notifications Pro
Reach people when the site is closed. OneSignal-powered, one App ID to paste.
Splash and onboarding Pro
Launch on your icon and colour, then intro slides before the first page.
Offline screen, permissions, loaders — free
A branded page when the connection drops instead of Android's grey error. Camera, microphone and location when your pages use them. A page loader so the gap between pages is never a white flash. Pull-to-refresh. All on the free tier.
Convert a website to an APK in three steps
About five minutes. Nothing installed on your computer, no Android Studio, no code written by anyone.
-
1
Paste your website's URL
Any site that works in Chrome on a phone — WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, a web app, a custom build. Or upload an HTML file or a ZIP to bundle it offline. The builder previews it in a phone frame first.
-
2
Name it, brand it, choose the extras
App name, a square icon, your theme colour and the package name. The converter generates every launcher size and picks the status-bar icon colour. On Pro: splash screen, native tabs and push notifications.

3
Convert in the cloud, download the APK
A real Android project is generated, compiled and signed on our servers. Download a signed APK and open it on any Android phone — or build an AAB for Google Play with Pro.
What is a website to APK converter?
A website to APK converter is a tool that packages an existing website as an installable Android app without rewriting it. It generates a native Android project whose main screen is a WebView — the same Chromium engine as Chrome — pointed at your site, adds an icon, a name, a splash screen and a theme colour, compiles it and signs it. What you get back is an APK you can install on any Android phone, or an AAB to upload to Google Play.
Because the engine is Chromium, the rule is simple: anything that works in Chrome on Android works in the app. Logins, carts, checkouts, forms, video, maps, JavaScript frameworks. What the app adds is what a browser tab lacks — a place on the home screen, a launch experience, native tabs, push notifications, an offline screen, and a listing on Google Play.
Website to APK is that converter, and it runs entirely in your browser — there is no Windows program to download, unlike most "Website 2 APK Builder" software. The free tier produces a complete signed APK with no watermark and no expiry. Pro exists for Google Play (AAB output, your own signing key) and for the native extras. It converts three kinds of input — a live URL, a single HTML file, or a ZIP of a website — and the first is what almost everyone wants. Online converter vs desktop software →
APK converter, PWA, or a native build?
Converting your website to an APK is the fastest and cheapest way to get an existing site onto phones as an installable app with a Google Play listing. A PWA is the right choice when a home-screen icon is all you need and you have no reason to be in the store. A native build is for when the app is the product and the website is not.
| Website to APK | PWA | Freelancer wrapper | Native / agency | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cost to start | $0 | $0 + dev time | $200–$2,000 | $5,000–$50,000+ |
| Time to an installed app | Minutes | An afternoon | Days | Months |
| Changes to your website | None | Manifest + service worker | None | Rebuilt from scratch |
| Google Play listing | Yes (Pro) | Not directly | Yes | Yes |
| Push notifications | Yes (Pro) | Web Push, with caveats | If built | Yes |
| Content updates | Instant — it is your site | Instant | Instant | New release each time |
| Best when | Your website is the product | You only want an icon | You need one custom native piece | The app is the product |
The honest limit of a converted website: the APK cannot run in the background, use Bluetooth or draw home-screen widgets, and it will not animate like a native list. For a shop, a service, a publication, a portal or a tool — which is most websites — none of that matters. APK vs PWA, in detail → · What each route costs →

Convert any website that works in Chrome on a phone
The APK loads your live site, so the platform behind it does not matter. If it renders at phone width over HTTPS, it converts.
Shops and restaurants
Orders, menus and bookings on a home-screen icon, with push for "your order is ready".
Agencies and freelancers
An app deliverable on top of a site you already built, billed at your rate, rebuilt in minutes when it changes.
SaaS and portals
Dashboards, member areas and internal tools that stay signed in and live in the app drawer.
Publications and communities
A reading app with native tabs for sections and a notification when something new lands.
Schools and organisations
Timetables, notices and resources on every student's phone — or bundled offline from a ZIP.
Developers
An installable APK for testing, demos and clients — on macOS or Linux, without Android Studio or a Windows-only builder.
Can a converted APK go on Google Play?
Yes. Google Play accepts apps converted from a website provided they do something a bookmark would not — its minimum functionality policy. Push notifications, native tabs, a splash-and-onboarding flow or bundled offline content all satisfy it. Note that Play requires an App Bundle (AAB) for new apps rather than an APK, so you build the APK to test and the AAB to publish. Both are produced from the same project; AAB output is Pro.
There is a one-time $25 registration with Google, a privacy policy to link, and a Data safety form to fill from what your website actually collects. The full Play checklist → · Why Play needs an AAB → iPhone is a different question with different answers: the iOS options →

How do I convert a website to an APK?
Paste the website's URL into the converter, set an app name, a square icon and a theme colour, and press build. Your site is wrapped in a native Android WebView app, compiled and signed in the cloud, and you download a signed APK you can install on any Android phone. It takes about five minutes and needs no coding, no Android Studio and no software download.
Is this website to APK converter free?
Yes. The free tier converts a URL, an HTML file or a ZIP into a complete signed APK with no watermark, no expiry and no card. Pro is only needed for Google Play — AAB output and your own signing key — and for the native extras: splash screen, onboarding, bottom tabs and push notifications.
What is web2apk?
Web2apk is shorthand for converting a website to an Android APK. It covers online converters like this one, which build in the cloud, and desktop programs such as Website 2 APK Builder, which you install on Windows. The output is the same kind of signed APK either way.
Do I need to download any software?
No. This is an online website 2 APK builder: everything happens in your browser and the build runs on our servers. That means it works on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS and even a phone — unlike desktop APK builders, which are usually Windows-only.
Can I convert an HTML file or a ZIP to an APK?
Yes. Upload a single HTML5 file, or a ZIP of a static site with index.html at its root, and the content is bundled inside the APK and served from the device — so the app works with no connection at all. Free accounts can upload 5 MB of content; Pro raises it to 18 MB.
Will my whole website work inside the APK?
If it works in Chrome on Android, yes — the APK uses the same Chromium engine. The known exceptions are social sign-ins that redirect through a third-party domain, popups that expect a second browser window, and sites that block being embedded. Each has a fix in the guides.
Does the APK update when I change my website?
For a URL-based APK, instantly — it loads your live site, so publishing on the web updates the app with nothing to rebuild. You only rebuild when the shell changes: a new icon, name, tab bar or permission. Bundled HTML and ZIP apps carry their content inside and need a new build.
What is the difference between an APK and an AAB?
An APK is a finished app that installs directly on a phone. An AAB is a publishing format that cannot be installed — Google Play uses it to generate a tailored APK per device, typically 20–35% smaller. New apps on Play must be uploaded as an AAB; an APK is what you use for testing and direct distribution.
Can I publish a converted website on Google Play?
Yes, with an AAB (a Pro feature) and provided the app does more than a bookmark would — Play's minimum functionality policy. Push notifications, native tabs, a splash flow or bundled offline content all satisfy it. Google also charges a one-time $25 developer registration.
Is the APK signed, and can I update it later?
Every build is signed, because Android refuses to install an unsigned APK. To update an app already on Google Play you must sign with the same key as the original, which is what Pro's own-signing-key option is for. Updates also need a version code higher than the previous release.
Does it convert websites to iOS apps too?
No — Website to APK builds Android apps only. An iOS build needs a Mac, Xcode and Apple's $99-a-year developer program, which cannot run in this cloud pipeline. The iOS guide covers the realistic options, starting with a free PWA.
Can I convert a WordPress, Shopify or Wix site to an APK?
Yes. Those platforms render pages on their own servers, so you convert by URL: the APK loads your live site. Logins, carts and checkouts work exactly as they do in Chrome on Android.
Will the APK work offline?
A URL-based APK needs a connection, but shows a branded offline screen instead of Android's grey error when it is lost. Bundle an HTML file or a ZIP instead and the content ships inside the APK and works in airplane mode.
Is it safe to paste my website into a converter?
The converter only needs the public address of your site; it never asks for hosting or CMS credentials, and your code stays on your server — the APK loads it the way a browser does. The free tools on this site upload nothing at all.
